Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan cricket team picked up their biggest win in cricket history after defeating Australia by 21 runs in match 48 of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent, on June 23 (Sunday). This was a moment for celebration for the Asian side as not only did they defeat the Aussies in the Super 8 stage to revive their semi-final campaign but also avenged the loss they suffered from the team down under during the ODI World Cup 2023. After the match, the whole Afghanistan team was seen dancing to legendary Dwayne Bravo's iconic ‘Champion’ song.

Former West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo is currently a member of the Afghanistan team. He has taken up the role of their bowling consultant for this mega tournament and has been quite successful as the Afghan bowlers have performed exceptionally well in this season of mega tournament. They not only qualified for the Super 8 but also have defeated teams like New Zealand and Australia for the first time in their international career.

In the reel, Afghan players can be seen dancing on Dwayne Bravo's ‘Champion’ song. Fans are sharing this clip all over the social media at a rapid pace.

Afghanistan in contention for semi-final

Before this match, Afghanistan's qualification to Super 8 itself was being considered as an upset. However, with India and Australia being in the same group as them, no one was counting them in for the semi-final spot. But Now, their upset over the former champions Aussies have changed the scenario of Group 1. Australia are supposed to collide against Men in Blue in their final match and on the other hand, Afghan Lions will be going against Bangladesh. If both India and Afghanistan win their match, Australia will be out of the T20 World Cup 2024.
