After leading India to a 4-1 win in the five-Test series against Ben Stokes-led England with a comprehensive victory in Dharamsala, skipper Rohit Sharma was seen in Mumbai’s dressing room in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 final. On Day 3 of the final, the Mumbai batter watched Mumbai batters in action against Vidarbha at the Wankhede Stadium.

In the second session of the day's play, Rohit was seen sitting with veteran pacer Dhawal Kulkarni. Shardul Thakur was in the dressing room as well. The video has gone viral on social media.

Rohit yet to join MI camp

Rohit is set to join Mumbai Indians (MI) camp ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This time Rohit will be seen in a new role. Hardik Pandya will lead the five-time IPL champions. They will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 24 in Ahmedabad. This will also be the first time Pandya will go up against his former franchise after leading them for two seasons.

Rohit was not the only high-profile name in attendance for the Ranji Trophy final. Legendary Sachin Tendulkar watched the match with his friends as well.

Mumbai set for another title win

Rohit witnessed Sarfaraz Khan's brother Musheer Khan score 136. He broke Tendulkar’s 29-year-old record to become the youngest Mumbai batter to score a century in the Ranji Trophy final. Tendulkar did it with twin centuries against Punjab in the Ranji Trophy 1994-1995 final.

While Musheer held on to one end for a better part of the day, Ajinkya Rahane scored 73. Dropped from India’s Test squad and the list of centrally contracted players announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Shreyas Iyer ended his half-century drought in first-class cricket. He took the attack to the opposition and smashed 10 fours, and three sixes in his 95-run knock.

Later, Shams Mulani scored an unbeaten half-century to help Mumbai post 418 before getting bowled out. Mumbai have set a target of 538 for Vidarbha. The Rahane-led side is likely to register their record-extending 42nd Ranji Trophy title win.
