"In my childhood, I didn't know about cricket. From where I come, there is no cricket. I was playing tennis cricket till 2007. In 2016, when I left from home, I started following Shami bhai. I watch him and Rabada closely," Akash Deep after the match.

The 27-year-old made a remarkable impact by claiming the wickets of Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Zak Crawley during an impressive opening spell on Day 1. He initiated a crucial breakthrough for the hosts in the 10th over by inducing an edge from opener Ben Duckett, which was comfortably caught by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel.
Continuing his influence, the 27-year-old swiftly dismissed England vice-captain Ollie Pope LBW with a well-executed delivery, decisively shifting the momentum in India's favor.
Subsequently, Akash removed Zak Crawley, dislodging the bails and leaving England reeling at 3 for 58. At one point during the innings, England stood at 112/5 before Joe Root (106*) guided the team's recovery, forming strong partnerships with Ben Foakes (47) and Ollie Robinson (31*).
By the end of the day, England had reached 302/7.
Akash Deep received his debut cap in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah from the fourth Test; the latter was rested after participating in the first three matches of the series. India currently lead the five-match series 2-1.
