India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Hardik Pandya opened up about the upcoming high-voltage India versus Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 clash which is scheduled to be played on June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Pant said he feels more pressure during the arch-rivals clash because people remember these matches for a very long time.

Pant has played just two matches against Pakistan scoring 39 and 14 runs in T20 World Cup 2021 and Asia Cup 2022 respectively. India lost both the matches.

“There is a crowd everywhere you go. I’m sure in this group as well everyone wants to make sure we win the India-Pakistan game. So that is very normal, which I accept. At the same point of time, I do my best to disconnect from all those things and focus on the sport,” Pandya said.

“I’m very grateful to fans, they come and support us with all love and everything. But, at the same point of time, when we go inside there we can’t think of anything else,” he added.

India last faced Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 which was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The hosts India defeated the Men in Green by seven wickets.
