Arjun Tendulkar wreaks havoc with 9 wickets against KSCA XI ahead of Ranji Trophy 2024-25, leads Goa to massive win by an innings and 189 runs

Arjun Tendulkar helped Goa dominate KSCA XI and register a big win by an innings and 186 runs. Arjun took nine wickets from 26.3 overs.

Left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar took nine wickets in KSCA's invitational pre-season Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament. Arjun’s nine-wicket-haul in the match helped Goa win by a comfortable margin of 186 runs. 
 

KSCA XI had two renowned domestic players -- Nikin Jose and wicketkeeper-batter Sharath Srinivas – whereas the rest of the team comprised of Under-19 and Under-23 players. 
 

In the first innings, Karnataka were bowled out for 103 in 36.5 overs. Arjun bagged a fifer and conceded 41 runs from 13 overs.
 

Goa's Abhimav Tejrana's century and Manthan Khutkar's half-century helped their side post 413 on the board and take a 300-run lead.
 

In the second innings, the story wasn't too different as KSCA XI were bowled out for 121 in 30.4 overs. Arjun bowled three balls more than the previous innings and claimed four wickets for 46 runs.

Arjun’s career so far

Arjun So far, Arjun has played 13 First-Class games. He could not make it to Mumbai's Ranji team and has been playing for Goa ever since. The soon to be 25-year-old has 21 wickets from 13 games in red-ball cricket. He is yet to get a fifer across formats.
 

His last first-class game was against Gujarat where he registered scores of 45 and 14. He bagged five wickets including a four-fer in the first innings.

In List A (One-Day) cricket, he has 21 wickets from 15 games with best bowling figures of 4/30. In T20s, he has 26 wickets from 21 games with the best of 4 for 10. 
 

He has played five Indian Premier League (IPL) games for Arjun so far taking three wickets. He got to play just one game for MI in the previous edition where he remained wicketless after bowling 14 balls. 
 

Yograj sees potential in Arjun

Recently, Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj who coached Arjun for a while compared the youngster to a bloack of coal. The former Indian cricketer feels that if Arjun gets the proper treatment, he is capable of becoming a diamond.
