Babar Azam roars back to form with impressive ton in Champions Cup 2024, break Virat Kohli's record

Pakistan white ball captain Babar Azam regained his form with a century in the ongoing Champions Cup clash between Stallions and Dolphins.

Pakistan white ball captain Babar Azam roars back in form with an impressive century in the Champions ODI Cup in Pakistan. Babar Azam came out to bat at number three for the Stallions captained by Mohammad Harris and played an unbeaten innings of 104 runs in 100 balls including seven fours and three sixes. Babar's ton helped Stallions score a huge score of 271 runs. In response, the Dolphins team captained by Saud Shakeel collapsed for just 97 runs and lost the clash by 174 runs, while on the other hand, Babar Azam also defeated India's star batter Virat Kohli with a brilliant century.

 

Babar played a strong innings of 104 runs

 

In Faisalabad ground, the first blow to the team of Stallions came in the form of Shan Masood at a score of 76 runs. Masood got out after scoring 46 runs in 58 balls including five fours. After that Babar Azam came to bat and played the unbeaten knock of 104 runs. Babar scored the 30th century of his List A cricket career with an innings of 104 runs in 100 balls including seven fours and three sixes. With this, he became the batter to score 30 centuries in the least number of innings in List-A (ie 50-50 overs) cricket.

Babar Azam surpassed Virat Kohli

 

Before Babar Azam, Virat Kohli had scored his 30th century in 199 innings in List A cricket. Whereas Babar scored his 30th century in just 180 innings. Babar has now overtaken Virat Kohli with this astonishing ton. The name of former South African player Hashim Amla is included as number three. Amla scored his 30th century in List-A cricket in 225 innings.

 

Babar regained his form

Babar Azam was going through the rough patch of his career for a long time and he could not even score a fifty in the two-Test series against Bangladesh at home. Before this, he failed to perform in the T20 World Cup 2024 as well where Pakistan faced their biggest loss against a non-Test playing nation USA. Babar Azam will now feature in the Test series against England which is scheduled to start from October 7.
