Pakistan Cricket Board will sack Babar Azam from the white ball captaincy as the board didn't appoint him as one of the captains for the upcoming Champions One Day Cup. According to reports, the batter's leadership has been put under the scanner and is expected to be removed as Pakistan's white-ball captain.

Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team failed to perform in the ODI World Cup 2023 and after that the side failed to perform in the T20 World Cup 2024 where they suffered their biggest loss against non Test playing nation USA.

On the other hand, Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood also failed to register a win in the recently concluded two Test match series against Bangladesh. As Per Cricket Pakistan, he will also be sacked from captaincy.

“Babar Azam is not being made the captain of the ODI Champions Cup team. This is a clear indication that he is not going to be the captain of the Pakistan cricket team in the eyes of the management. It is believed that the name of the new Pakistani captain will be announced at the end of this year. A new captain may be appointed for ODIs and T20s before the Australia tour” reported Geo News.
