WATCH: BCCI releases Miracle Man's part 1 video featuring Rishabh Pant's remarkable road to recovery ahead of IPL 2024, video goes viral
Rishabh Pant suffered serious injuries after a life-threatening accident post which he underwent a rigorous rehabilitation at NCA in Bengaluru and is now declared fit to play.
Rishabh Pant is finally set to make his much-anticipated comeback in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as he will be once again seen leading the Delhi Capitals (DC) pack.
Pant's Remarkable Recovery
Pant's journey back to the field has been nothing short of extraordinary. After a near-fatal car accident in December 2022, the severity of his injuries initially cast doubt on his ability to walk normally again, let alone play cricket. Accident left Pant with severe injuries, including a damaged knee ligament requiring surgery, alongside a fractured wrist and ankle.
Through sheer determination and the tireless efforts of the medical team, Pant has defied the odds. Meanwhile BCCI declared Pant fully fit for IPL 2024 which marks a happy conclusion to a long and arduous recovery process Pant has undergone. While understandably nervous and excited, Pant's return is a testament to his unwavering self-belief and the incredible work ethic displayed by both him and the dedicated medical professionals who guided him back to health.
Meanwhile, BCCI recently released a video showcasing Pant's remarkable recovery process and captioned it 'The Greatest comeback story'.
The video highlights the dedication of the medical team who played a pivotal role in his rehabilitation. Dhananjay Kaushik, physiotherapist at the NCA, acknowledges Pant's unwavering spirit as a crucial factor in his comeback. He states, "If there's anyone who could have made a comeback, it's Rishabh Pant. With the kind of attitude he's got, the way he takes things in his stride."
The extent of Pant's injuries was gruesome, with Kaushik revealing near-complete ligament damage in his knee. Despite missing the 2023 IPL due to this setback, Pant will be back in action, leading DC once again in the upcoming season. Pant's injury forced him to miss major tournaments including the World Test Championship final in England and the entire ODI World Cup 2023 held in India.
