Pakistani all-rounder Aamer Jamal revealed that he was unable to sleep after witnessing Pakistan's shocking loss to the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024 few days back. This match, played in Texas, marked the first time ever that the Pakistani team, led by Babar Azam, had played a competitive cricket match in the United States. Fans both in Pakistan and around the world were anticipating a victory for the Men in Green to kick off their T20 World Cup campaign. However, the outcome was a disaster for the Pakistani team. The match saw Babar Azam witness a series of unfortunate events. First, he saw USA batsman Nitish Kumar score a boundary off Haris Rauf, tying the scores. Then, in the Super Over, he had to watch his team fall apart. The highly skilled Mohammad Amir, who had bowled exceptionally well in the regular overs, conceded a costly 18 runs in the final 6 balls of the match, effectively sealing Pakistan's fate in the tournament.

Pakistan's batting failed to chase down the target set by the USA, leading to a crushing defeat. This result caused immense pain and humiliation for the Pakistani nation, who weren't prepared for their team to lose to a newcomer in the T20 World Cup. Understandably, such a result sparked outrage from former Pakistani players. All-rounder Aamer Jamal, who last played for Pakistan in January, recently shared his reaction to the team's devastating loss.

In an interview with a local Pakistani outlet, Jamal was asked if he had witnessed Pakistan's defeat against the USA on June 6th. He admitted that he couldn't sleep that night after watching his team lose. It's likely his experience wasn't unique; the entire Pakistani fan base was probably sleepless after witnessing this shocking upset.

"I couldn't sleep," Jamal said in a conversation with Pak Passion.net.

Aamer Jamal also addressed his recent exclusion from the Pakistani national team. He wasn't selected after the team's away series in New Zealand. Interestingly, Jamal revealed he wasn't upset about being dropped without a clear explanation. He emphasised that his focus remains on playing cricket, and he will continue to do so irrespective of selection decisions.

"No, I'm not disappointed that I'm not in the team. First time I got disappointed after making my debut, I was dropped from the team without any reason. Like I hadn't performed it was fine but still I took it rather positively after some time. My job is to play Cricket and perform in whatever platform I'm provided with," the Pakistani all-rounder further stated.

"Selection is not in my hands, if it is written for me I will get it no matter what stage it is. So I always believe in playing good cricket, perform well. Selection is up to the selectors," he concluded.

Pakistan, who are on verge of elimination with just one win in two matches, will next face Ireland on June 16.
