BCCI recently announced the Indian squad for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024. However, after the squad announcement, star all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube got out on golden ducks in their respective matches and even veteran player Ravindra Jadeja saw a dismal outing against Punjab Kings in match 49 of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, on May 1 (Wednesday) as he got out after scoring 2 runs off four balls.

Fans stormed social media and are now trolling Dube for his performance right after getting selected in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.

T20 World Cup-bound players' underwhelming performance post-selection

However, Shivam Dube is the only player who has not performed in their first innings post-selection in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya got out on a golden duck as well. Rohit Sharma could only score 4 runs off five balls. Suryakumar Yadav got out after scoring just 10 runs off 6 balls during the LSG vs MI match. Even Arshdeep Singh was not really impressive as he leaked 24 runs in his first two overs against CSK.

Team India's T20 World Cup-bound players apart from Jasprit Bumrah did not have an impressive outing in their first match after squad selection, thus raising doubts. However, this is just one match and hopefully, the players will be back performing to their full caliber.
