Massive update on MS Dhoni's retirement and injury after Chennai Super Kings' exit from IPL 2024
DC vs MI: Hardik Pandya drops Gerald Coetzee after electing to bowl first, Rishabh Pant makes one change as well; check playing XIs
Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first against Delhi Capitals. Both MI and DC have made one major change in their line-ups for match 43 of IPL 2024.
Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals in match 43 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, on April 27 (Saturday). DC will get to the number 5 spot if they manage to win this match and as for MI, winning this match can revive the campaign in the season.
MI have dropped one of their leading wicket-taker Gerald Coetzee and brought in Luke Wood. On, the other hand, Delhi has given Kumar Kushagra a spot in the eleven in place of Prithvi Shaw.
Head-to-Head
Both teams have faced each other 34 times. Out of these, MI have won 19 of those matches and DC have been victorious in 15 of them. Mumbai have won the last three games against Delhi.
Captains at Toss
“We're going to bowl first. The ground is small. It's better to bat second on a smaller ground. Every game is a new game, we make sure we are not out. We keep fighting and keep coming hard in each game. The mood is fine, happy chats, all is well. You should not really focus on what has happened in the past. Anyone can beat anyone. Our goal is to play our brand of cricket and put our best foot forward. Only one change,” said Hardik after winning the toss.
“We were looking to bat first. I think it will get slower in the second innings. It has been amazing, we're getting the kind of wickets we want. As a team we have to play well and we have been. This is something we talked about - how to control the innings. Bowling with the new ball and bowling at the death is difficult, one over here or there is making all the difference. Just one change, Privthvi Shaw misses out and Kumar Kushagra comes in,” said Pant at toss.
