Watch: Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal, Sanju Samson shake hands after former's wild celebration to controversial dismissal

Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson’s dismissal caused controversy as he argued with the on-field umpires after the third umpire Michael Gough adjudged him out. Samson did not believe that he should have been out seeing different angles of the catch taken by Shai Hope very close the boundary. As Samson was reluctant to leave the field, Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal was animated in the stands chanting ‘Out-Out’. However, after the match, Jindal met Samson in the presence of RR co-owner Manoj Badale.
 

DC posted a video of the two after the match with caption: “Our Chairman and Co-owner, Parth Jindal, caught up with Rajasthan Royals' captain Sanju Samson & owner Manoj Badale, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium last night, after what was an exceptional contest of cricket. Parth also extended his congratulations to the RR skipper on being selected for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup.”

Jindal responded to the video on X giving clarification for his animated celebrations and lauding Samson for the fantastic knock in the unsuccessful run chase. 
 

“Was lovely interacting with Manoj and Sanju - was incredible to witness his power hitting at the Kotla - he got us all extremely worried and hence the animated reaction when he was out! Had the pleasure of congratulating him as well. Great win by our boys!”

Sangakkara says no to controversy

Samson’s wicket was the turning point of the game as RR failed to capitalise in the slog overs and lost the match by 20 runs. In the post-match press conference, RR’s head coach and Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara doused the flames as he feels that the lower-order batters should have got the team over the line. 
 

"It depends on the replays and angles and sometimes you think the foot's touched. But it's a difficult one for the third umpire to judge. The game was at a crucial stage, so that happens in cricket. [We've got] different perspectives on it but you know at the end of the day you got to stand by that decision of the third umpire [is what] the umpires did. If we have any other kind of opinion on it, we'll share it with the umpires and sort it out. I thought irrespective of the dismissal, we still should have probably seen that game home but I thought Delhi played really really well. And they fought till the end and they were very smart with their bowling at the backend," Sangakarra told the reporters.
 

Despite the loss, RR stayed in the second position on the points table whereas DC climbed to the fifth position with their sixth win from 12 games.
