Shadab Khan took the second hat-trick in the history of the Lanka Premier League and his maiden one during the match between Colombo Strikers and B-Love Kandy in match 3 of the LPL 2024 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, on July 2 (Wednesday). He helped the Strikers pick up a big 51-run win. However, he is still getting trolled and slammed by fans for it.

Fans troll Shadab Khan despite hat-trick

Shadab Khan's hat-trick did not receive the love and that could usually be expected after a feat like this. However, he was trolled and instead questioned for his intent while playing for Pakistan in the just-concluded T20 World Cup 2024, where they had to suffer an exit from the group stage itself. Shadab Khan only has one wicket in his last 9 T20I appearances and not a single one in the T20 World Cup. He has not been that impressive with the bat either. He has three ducks and six single-digit outings in the last 9 T20I matches. Now, he is also facing heavy trolling on social media.

Shadab on his hat-trick

The all-rounder won the Player of the Match award for his stunning hat-trick. Overall he took four over and only gave away 22 runs. Both the Pakistan team and his LPL side would be expecting that he could continue with this form and perform exceptionally well in the same manner in future games.

“When I went to bat, it was turning a bit when you bowl a bit slower. I was talking to Thisara that if you take it deep, it is easier to hit the pacers. [if he knew this is just the 2nd hat-trick in LPL history] I don't know, I only know that it is my first one,” said Shadab Khan in the post-match presentation.
