India's cricket team is set to embark on a new era as they face Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series starting on Saturday, July 27. The series marks a significant change for the team as Suryakumar Yadav takes over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma, who recently retired from the T20Is. Also, Gautam Gambhir replaces Rahul Dravid as India's new head coach.

 

Team India begins new era under Suryakumar and Gambhir

 

Team India arrived in Sri Lanka on July 22 and immediately commenced training for the upcoming T20I series. To build anticipation for the series opener, the BCCI shared a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the team's training session. The clip captured several engaging moments among the players and coaching staff.

Another heartwarming moment captured the camaraderie between captain Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya. The team's overall morale appeared high as they concluded their preparations for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.

India Aim to Start New Chapter on a Winning Note

 

India will be keen to begin their new era in T20 cricket under Suryakumar Yadav with a victory over Sri Lanka. The series marks India's second assignment since their triumphant T20 World Cup campaign. While the team has played a T20I series against Zimbabwe post-World Cup, the core group of players who clinched the title will be back in action.

 

Sri Lanka Under New Leadership

 

Sri Lanka enter the series as underdogs and will look to capitalize on home conditions. The team is also navigating a leadership change, with Charith Asalanka taking over the captaincy from Wanindu Hasaranga following Sri Lanka's disappointing T20 World Cup campaign.
