In a regrettable turn of events for the Lahore Qalandars and a worrying piece of news for the Pakistan cricket team, star pacer Haris Rauf has been ruled out for the rest of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season following a severe shoulder dislocation. This unfortunate incident occurred during a closely contested match against the Karachi Kings, where Rauf, in a valiant effort to secure a crucial catch in the 20th over, landed awkwardly on his shoulder, leading to the injury.

Haris Rauf requires 4-6 weeks for recovery

Despite demonstrating resilience by walking off the field with his arm in a sling, subsequent medical evaluations have painted a grim picture. After thorough consultations, the medical team has determined that Rauf will require a recovery period of four to six weeks.

"Haris Rauf is out of PSL with a shoulder dislocation. Wishing our star bowler a swift recovery during his 4-6 weeks of rest," Lahore Qalandars announced on X (formerly Twitter).

This timeline effectively sidelines him for the remainder of the PSL season, delivering a significant blow to the Qalandars' campaign and disheartening fans and teammates alike.

Shaheen Afridi reacts to Haris Rauf's injury

Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi reacted to the worrying news of the shoulder injury to his star pacer and wished for Rauf's speedy recovery.

"As a team, we are deeply saddened by Haris Rauf's injury. It was painful to see him missing out as he's been a pillar of strength for us, and his absence will be felt. In the face of adversity, we stand united, and I have full confidence that the team will rise to the occasion," Afridi said in a statement.

"It's indeed a setback for the franchise, but he is also Pakistan's main bowler, and with a lot of cricket coming up, a pragmatic approach was to give him maximum time to recover. Wishing him a speedy recovery, and we eagerly await his return to the field stronger than ever. Our thoughts and support are with him during this challenging time," he added.
