In a rain-curtailed affair at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on May 6, Harmanpreet Kaur-India beat Bangladesh by 56 runs (Duckworth Lewis Stern method) to take 4-0 lead in the five-T20I series. Bangladesh batters failed to put up a fight in the run chase of 125 and lost six wickets for just 30 runs as they managed to post 68/7 in the 14 overs per side game.

Cameos help India post fighting total

Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana won the toss and opted to field first. Shafali Verma fell to Shorfa Khatun in the second over for a single-digit score. Dayalan Hemalatha smashed two sixes and as many fours before getting out lbw to Marufa Akter in the fifth over. Before the completion of powerplay overs, rain played spoilsport. As the game resumed, Smriti Mandhana fell early, bowled by Rabeya KHan for an 18-ball 22. Harmanpreet and Richa Ghosh looked to score quickly. Ghosh smashed a six off Rabeya before falling for a 15-ball 24 cameo in the 12th over. In the last over, Harmanpreet was run out. She scored 39 runs from 26 balls. Pooja Vastrakar fell off the last ball as India posted 122/6 in 14 overs.

No fightback from Bangladesh

In the run chase, Dilara Akter looked to score quickly. She was dropped on the last ball of Titas Sadhu's second over. Deepti Sharma in her first over got the better of Murshida Khatun. After six overs, Bangladesh were 30/1. The required run rate went out of the grasp. In Deepti's second over, Dilara got out lbw for a 25-ball 21. Then Rubya Haider got run out for a 17-ball 13. Asha Sobhana on her debut trapped Nigar in front of the stumps with a fuller delivery. Ritu Moni and Shorna Akter fell for single-digit scores too as Bangladesh suffered batting collapse. In the last over, Vastrakar got the better of Rabeya. Bangladesh posted 68 for seven wickets in 14 overs and suffered another defeat.
