The young English batsman, having faced only two balls prior to the final over, unleashed a remarkable onslaught against Russell. He struck an impressive sequence of 4, 6, 6, 2, and 6, culminating in an unbeaten 31 off just 7 balls. This stunning performance not only secured a one-ball spare victory for England but also marked the highest successful T20I chase on West Indian soil. The win was crucial for England as it kept them in contention in the series, reducing their deficit to 2-1.

Brook's explosive innings comes at a significant moment, just ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. His stint with the SunRisers Hyderabad in the previous season, for which he was bought for a hefty Rs 13.25 crore, was not as impactful as expected. In his maiden IPL season, Brook managed only one notable century against Kolkata Knight Riders, alongside a series of low scores, particularly struggling against spin bowling.

However, Brook has since regained his form, contributing significantly to England's performance in the Ashes 2023, where the series ended in a 2-2 draw against Australia.
