'He is like Aamir Khan of Lagaan...': India batter lavishes praise on Rohit Sharma ahead of Bangladesh Test series

India young batter Sarfaraz Khan lavished praise on Rohit Sharma ahead of the 1st Test match against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19. Sarfaraz is currently involved in the Duleep Trophy 2024 where he has scored 16 runs for India B in his second outing of the domestic red-ball series. 

Sarafaraz made his India debut under Rohit's captaincy during the India vs England Test series in February-March. He scored 200 runs in three matches at an average of 50. His highest score was 68 not out. 

"Lagaan is my favourite movie. Like how Aamir Khan made that team in the movie, in my eyes, Rohit Sharma is like Aamir Khan for this team," said Sarfaraz.
 

 

Unlike other young cricketers, Sarfaraz also lavished praise on Rohit's behaviour of making him comfortable.

"He is very different. He makes you feel very comfortable. Rohit Sharma is like a big brother. We enjoy a lot while playing under him," said Sarfaraz Khan on JioCinema as quoted by India Today. "First, I saw him from the outside, now I have played with him to experience it. He doesn't treat us like juniors, he treats everybody equally."

 

Sarfaraz Khan is also part of India's 1st Test squad against Bangladesh which is scheduled to take place in MA. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He will miss the first Test match because of the Duleep Trophy. India will play two Test matches against Bangladesh and the second Test match will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. After this the Men in Blue will host New Zealand for the three-Test match series before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 scheduled to take place in Australia.
