'I don't want to talk too much about him': Rohit Sharma's post-match comment after Yashasvi Jaiswal's record-breaking double ton

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has impressed many with his second double ton in Test cricket. Jaiswal returned to the field on Day 4 after getting retired hurt on Day 3 and smashed the record for most sixes in a Test. Skipper Rohit Sharma has been left mighty impressed by his opening partner but he did not want to talk too much about him after India’s record-breaking 434-run win over England in Rajkot. 
 

“I have spoken a lot about him, in Vizag as well, people outside the changeroom have spoken as well. I don't want to talk too much about him, he has started his career on a high, I want him to continue doing well,” Rohit said in the post-match presentation. 
 

Meanwhile, Jaiswal gave credit to his captain and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for motivating him with centuries in the first innings after India lost three wickets for 39 runs. 
 

“As all my seniors have said, when you are set, make it big and make it count. The way Rohit (Sharma) bhai and Jaddu (Jadeja) bhai played in the first innings really inspired me. The way they played session by session was incredible, the way they put effort motivated all of us,” he told the broadcasters after Jadeja’s fifer helped India bowl out England for 122. 
 

Rohit lauded Jadeja and the youngsters as he listed out several turning points of the third Test that helped the hosts take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
 

“We calculate everything and then go with the flow. Lots of turning points, was a good toss to win, we know how important in India it is to win the toss, the way we came back and bowled after that onslaught. The bowlers showed a lot of character, not to forget we did not have our most experienced bowler as well. With the bat we knew the job was half-done, those two youngsters got us the lead we wanted and obviously Jadeja with the ball in the 2nd innings was superb,” the 36-year-old said. 
 

The win helped India climb to the second spot on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. India and England will lock horns again in the fourth Test in Ranchi starting February 23.
