ICC announces Dinesh Karthik-led star-studded commentary panel for T20 World Cup including 4 Indians and 3 Pakistani superstars

ICC has unveiled the star-studded commentary panel for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which will be jointly hosted by USA and West Indies and is scheduled to kick off from June 2. Cricket fans can expect their viewing experience to be enriched by the voices of legendary commentators. 

Familiar names set to rock in commentary box in T20 WC

Familiar names like Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, Mel Jones, Harsha Bhogle, and Ian Bishop are all set to grace the commentary box. These commentators have a proven track record of bringing the drama and excitement of cricket to life, having delivered unforgettable lines that captured the essence of past World Cup moments.

Making his World Cup debut is James O'Brien, better known as Jomboy, the American commentator. He'll be providing insights specifically tailored for American viewers, helping bridge the gap and add context to the fast-paced world of T20 cricket.

The commentary team gets a boost from former T20 World Cup winners from both the Men's and Women's tournaments. These include big names like Dinesh Karthik, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, and Lisa Sthalekar. Meanwhile, a total of 20 teams will battle out with each other in the cricket carnival for one trophy. They will be divided into five groups with each team playing four matches. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super-8 stage. The tension will then build towards the semi-finals on June 26 and 27, culminating in the grand finale on June 29 in Barbados.
