International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken a big step after Pakistan team's complaint of long commute to the stadium for their upcoming T20 World Cup matches in New York.

Pakistan team's hotel changed after long commute complaint

Finally, Pakistan team's concerns has been heard and their travel woes has been resolved. Following intervention by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, ICC relocated the Pakistan team to a new hotel, confirmed a source privy to the development. Babar Azam's brigade's new hotel is much closer, situated just a five-minute drive from the stadium located on Long Island in Westbury, New York. This will significantly reduce travel time and ensure the team can focus on preparation for their crucial matches, including the highly anticipated clash against India on Sunday, June 9.

The ongoing T20 World Cup has seen some controversy surrounding team hotels, particularly in New York City. While the Indian team, playing all their group matches there, enjoys the convenience of a hotel just 10 minutes from the stadium, other teams haven't been so lucky. Sri Lanka, who were comprehensively bowled out for a mere 77 runs against South Africa in their opening match, have expressed frustration about their hotel location. Situated over an hour away from the New York venue, this long commute adds unnecessary strain and travel fatigue to the team. Meanwhile, Pakistan, who play their first group game against co-host United States in Dallas on Thursday, June 6, have benefitted from the concerns raised by the PCB. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has relocated them to a hotel just a five-minute drive from the New York stadium after their initial accommodation was also a significant distance away. This disparity in hotel locations has understandably caused tension, with some teams feeling disadvantaged compared to others.

High stakes and a historic rivalry are on display as Pakistan, prepare to face India at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 9. This highly anticipated encounter is just one of two Group A clashes scheduled for the venue, with Pakistan also taking on Canada two days later on June 11.

India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, is hungry for their first T20 World Cup victory since the tournament's inception in 2007. Their campaign kicked off strong on Wednesday, June 5, with a dominant 8-wicket win against Ireland, showcasing well-rounded teamwork. Meanwhile, Pakistan will begin their journey against the co-hosts, the USA, on Thursday, June 6 in Dallas.

History favors India in this long-standing rivalry. In their seven T20 World Cup meetings, India have emerged victorious five times, losing only once and drawing one. However, every encounter between these cricketing giants promises a thrilling spectacle, and this upcoming clash in New York promises to be no different. Both teams will be eager to rewrite history and secure bragging rights when they next meet.
