Pant's impressive return to Test cricket

Rishabh Pant made his Test comeback in the ongoing two Test match series against Bangladesh. While batting in the first innings the wicketkeeper batter stitched an important partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal and missed out on a well-deserving fifty. Pant scored 39 (52), including six fours. Pant made his cricketing comeback in IPL 2024 where he was the highest run-getter for his franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) and after his impressive IPL performance, he was added to India's T20 World Cup squad. He was one of the standout performers in the marquee event hosted by USA and West Indies scoring 171 runs in nine outings for India.

India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Day 2 Lunch

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant cruised to fluent fifties as India reached 205 for three at lunch on the third day of the first Test against Bangladesh, firmly taking control of the match. Gill (86 not out) and Pant (82 not out) put together an unbroken 138-run partnership for the fourth wicket, extending India’s overnight score of 81 for three to a commanding lead of 432 runs.

Starting the day with 33 runs, Gill and Pant, who resumed on 12, capitalized on the Bangladeshi bowlers' inability to seize the advantage in the cool, damp morning with composed shot-making. The Indian duo approached their innings in their unique styles. Gill's batting is characterized by minimalism, as he plays with understated elegance and little flourish.
