Team India led by Rohit Sharma have reached Chennai ahead of the 1st Test match against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from September 19. Team India will play two Test match series against Bangladesh. Indian star batter Sarfaraz Khan who was the part of squad during Test series against England have not reached Chennai and will miss the 1st Test match.

Former India captain Virat Kohli spent 45 minutes in the nets and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah bowled full tilt as the Indian cricket team on Friday began its preparations for a two-Test series against Bangladesh.

This upcoming Test series against Bangladesh will be the first red-ball assignment for Gautam Gambhir as India's head coach. Apart from Gambhir, new bowling coach, South African great Morne Morkel, and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar also joined the squad.

The BCCI posted images of the first day of practice and wrote, "The countdown starts as Team India begin their preps for an exciting home season."

The images showed the entire squad listening attentively to Gambhir, his support staff and skipper Rohit. Former India captain Virat Kohli who was spending time with his family took the direct flight from London to join the squad ahead of 1st Test match. Why Sarfaraz Khan missed the practice session despite being part of squad

Sarfaraz Khan has also been included in Team India for the first Test match against Bangladesh. But Sarfaraz Khan was not seen in India's first day's practice session. Because he is playing for the India-B team in the second round of the Duleep Trophy. Sarfaraz Khan has not been able to join the Test Team India camp yet. The second round of the Duleep Trophy will end on September 15 and only after this Sarfaraz Khan will join the Test Team India camp.
