India to face Pakistan in T20I bilateral series after Champions Trophy 2025? Here is all you need to know

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi will reportedly discuss with BCCI secretary Jay Shah to have a T20I series between India and Pakistan after the Champions Trophy 2025.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi lilkely to invite Indian Cricket team for the T20I biletral series against Pakistan after the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan media reported that Naqvi will invite India for a T20 series at a neutral venue during 2025, when he will meet BCCI secretary Jay Shah in the ICC annual conference to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on July 19-22. 

 

Team India are currently preparing for the upcoming Sri Lanka series and on the other hand, Pakistan cricket team are preparing for their upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh. 

 

"The proposal will be discussed during the meeting of Mohsin Naqvi with Jay Shah (BCCI secretary), with matches potentially scheduled during the free days of both teams after the Champions Trophy," said the PCB source.
 

ICC's meeting in Sri Lanka for Champions Trophy

 

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and members of the Pakistan Cricket Board are currently involved in the ICC's annual conference meeting happening in Sri Lanka from 19 to 22 July. The PCB chairman will meet Jay Shah in the conference where he will discuss the Champions Trophy 2025 including the proposal of a bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

PCB's preparations for Champions Trophy 2025

 

PCB are fully prepared to host the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy they have also started building a five-star hotel outside the Gaddafi Stadium to welcome Team India in Lahore for the marquee event. Pakistan have planned all India's matches at the same venue so that there will be no security concern for Men in Blue. 

 

Earlier, Indian team management denied to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023 citing security concerns after that Sri Lanka came as the co-host and all India matches were played in Island nation. Team India last played a match against Pakistan in 2008  for the Asia Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
