The highly anticipated T20 World Cup encounter between India and Pakistan at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9 faces a potential washout due to rain. According to the latest weather forecast, there's a significant chance of rain throughout the day. AccuWeather's hourly forecast predicts a daunting 51 per cent chance of rain at 11:00 AM, just 30 minutes after the scheduled match start. The precipitation chances remain high, hovering between 45-50 per cent until 4:00 PM, before dropping to 30 per cent later in the evening.

Weather to play spoilsport in India vs Pakistan clash?

Being a day game, additional time could be allotted to complete the match. However, the likelihood of waiting for extended periods into the evening seems slim. If the forecast holds true, a complete washout becomes a real possibility. There's still a window of opportunity for the weather to improve in the next few days. Cricket fans around the world will be eagerly monitoring the weather reports, hoping for clear skies for this high-voltage clash.

The looming rain clouds add another layer of intrigue to the highly anticipated India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match.  For Pakistan, this encounter carries immense weight after their shocking upset against the USA in the tournament opener. Victory over India is crucial for their Super 8s qualification hopes. A washout would leave them in a precarious position. Even winning their remaining matches against Canada and Ireland would only secure five points, potentially leaving them vulnerable to other teams' results.

India, on the other hand, is expected to comfortably progress through the group stage with wins against Canada and USA. This leaves just one remaining slot for the second qualifier. The USA, already on four points, could secure their Super 8s berth with a win against Ireland.

A group stage exit for Pakistan would be a major disappointment, adding further pressure to this high-voltage encounter. Cricket fans worldwide will be hoping for clear skies to allow this crucial match to proceed.
