Mumbai Indians' star pacer Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Purple Cap race this IPL season. In the recent clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 6, Bumrah took a wicket and conceded 23 runs across his overs. Despite this, SRH’s left-arm pacer T Natarajan, who went wicketless in the same match, remains in fourth place in the Purple Cap standings. Previously, Natarajan had solidified his position by taking two wickets and conceding 35 runs.

Punjab Kings' (PBKS) pacer Harshal Patel, who sits just behind Bumrah, enhanced his tally on May 5 against Chennai Super Kings by taking three wickets while giving up only 24 runs. His teammate, Arshdeep Singh, who also took two wickets in that match but conceded 42 runs, holds the fifth spot.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy remains in third place. On May 5, against Lucknow Super Giants, Chakaravarthy claimed three wickets for 30 runs in his three-over spell. Notably, he is the only spinner among the top contenders in the Purple Cap race.

Here is the updated list of bowlers contending for the Purple Cap:
