Suresh Raina reveals unheard conversation with MS Dhoni when he helped former CSK teammate walk after MI clash
Suresh Raina revealed the conversation he had with his former CSK teammate MS Dhoni when he helped him walk after the match against Mumbai Indians.
Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has been all over the news throughout the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, be it for handing the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad or for his finisher role in the death overs. However, Dhoni's knee is another topic of concern for CSK. A video of Suresh Raina helping Dhoni walk to the bus after the match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium sparked speculations about the legendary cricketer's fitness.
Raina reveals conversation with Dhoni
In the video that went viral on the internet, Dhoni was seen limping while walking as if he was having trouble again with his left knee. Rain Dhoni hit three consecutive sixes against Hardik Pandya in the same match which later turned out to be match-winning for Chennai.
Fans were even speculating what Raina and Dhoni were talking about during their shot conversation. Raina revealed that Dhoni praised his Bhojpuri commentary in a video posted by Jio Cinema.
"MS Dhoni was discussing Bhojpuri commentary. He said, 'Bahut hi gajabe commentary kar rahe Bhojpuriya mein (You guys have been doing fantastic commentary in Bhojpuri).' I told him Haryanavi is also nice," Raina said on JioCinema.
CSKβs bowling consultant Eric Simmons on Dhoni's knee
Eric Simmons called Dhoni the hardest man he has ever met. He praised his ability to ignore his pain and said fans are actually more concerned about his injuries than he actually is.
"Everyone else is more interested in his injuries than he is. He's one of the hardest men I've ever come across. I don't even think we know to what extent he may or may not be in pain. He just carries on and does his thing," Simmons said.
"I'm sure there's some niggle. He just has that ability to ignore what it is and do what needs to be done. We're more concerned about his injuries. When I say we, I mean the public (which) is more concerned about his injuries than he is," he added.
