In the Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash between Shadab Khan's Islamabad United and Babar Azam's Peshawar Zalmi, New Zealand’s Colin Munro won hearts as he hugged the ballboy on the boundary for taking a sensational catch after avoiding collision.

The incident took place in the penultimate over of the innings. Rumman Raees bowled a slower ball and Arif Yaqoob flicked it over the deep backward square leg boundary. Munro went for the catch but the ball was too far for him. Meanwhile, the ballboy put in a slide to take the catch. Munro managed to avoid the collision then hugged and lifted the ballboy who had dropped a catch earlier. Munro gave a few tips to the youngster after which he pulled off an excellent catch that has gone viral on social media.

Shadab’s knock takes Islamabad to big score

Earlier, the Islamabad United opener had scored 15 runs from nine balls. Despite the openers falling cheaply, skipper Shadab's 51-ball 80 featuring four fours and six sixes took the score to 196/4. Agha Salman contributed with a 25-ball 37 whereas Jordan Cox and Azam Khan remained unbeaten for 26 and 29 respectively.

Peshawar suffer batting collapse

In the run chase, Peshawar Zalmi suffered a top-order collapse. They lost three wickets for just three runs in the fourth over. Babar Azam was run out for a golden duck whereas Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris returned to the dressing room after scoring just a single.

Jamal fights lone battle

Hunain Shah and Shadab struck in the middle overs and Peshawar Zalmi lost half their side for 18. Aamer Jamal fought the lone battle as he smashed six sixes and eight fours in his 49-ball 87 to help Peshawar Zalmi post 167 on the board for the loss of nine wickets. Peshawar Zalmi lost the match by 29 runs.

Points table remains the same

Zalmi suffered their fourth loss and are currently placed on the points table. Islamabad United have a better net run rate (NRR) and are placed third on the points table with the same number of wins from seven games. There was no change on the points table.
