Former India opener Woorkeri Raman suggested Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid to change the batting order of wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant to put pressure on the opposition in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. New headache has emerged for Rohit Sharma-led India in terms of team combination because of Pant. He slammed 53 off 32 balls before he retired out during the warm up match against Bangaladesh, Many cricketers including Simon Doull want Pant to bat at number three to dominate the opposition.

Rishabh Pant's T20I batting stats at number three and four

Pant has played most of his T20Is for India at number 4. He scored 474 runs including two half-centuries while playing at number four. He played 15 matches while batting at number 5 he scored 297 runs with an average of 27 with a high score of 50 not out. Pant opened the batting for five times and batted at 3 on just six occasions. The ideal position for him to bat is number four followed by Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja.

However, former India opener WV Raman suggested something else, he want Pant to bat at number 5 or 6 to save the top spot for Kohli, SKY and Hardik.

"Not much should be read into a warm-up game, as sending him at No.3 was maybe about giving him more game time. If he explodes in the last five-six overs along with players like Hardik, (Ravindra) Jadeja or even an Axar Patel, that can really be the game-changer. Suppose in a game, India still have Rishabh at the dugout for the last eight-nine overs, it will surely keep the opposition under pressure,” Raman told The Telegraph.

Rishabh Pant has made his international comeback after 16 months after recovering from the injuries that he got in the near-death accident in December 2022 while driving back to home.
