Jake Fraser-McGurk smashes fastest fifty for Delhi Capitals, breaks former South African cricketer’s 8-year-old record
On a record-breaking evening, Jake Fraser-McGurk went after Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers and got to his second IPL fifty from just 15 balls.
Delhi Capitals (DC) explosive top-order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk etched his name on Indian Premier League (IPL) record books with his 65-run knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Fraser-McGurk broke the record for fastest fifty for Delhi-based franchise. He reached his half-century from just 15 balls.
The previous record belonged to former South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris. He scored a 17-ball half-century against now-defunct Gujarat Lions in IPL 2016.
Fraser-McGurk also registered the fastest half-century of the season. SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have scored 16-ball half-centuries in the ongoing edition. Head did it against DC whereas Abhishek achieved it against Mumbai Indians (MI).

He reached his half-century with a six off Mayank Markande in the seventh over.

The young batter was picked as a replacement for an injured Lungi Ngidi. He He has scored 140 runs from three innings. He scored a half-century on debut against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
In the previous clash, he opened the innings in Warner's absence and impressed DC's Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly with a first-ball six in the run chase.
