James Anderson was seen sledging India skipper Rohit Sharma in the first session of the Day 4 of fourth Test in Ranchi on February 26. However, Rohit countered Anderson's sledging with a simile before returning to his crease. But little did Anderson know what Rohit is upto as he launched an epic response to Anderson's sledging.

The incident took place amidst a running mix-up between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma during one of Anderson's overs. Despite a delayed start by Rohit, the run was successfully completed, and Anderson was spotted exchanging words with the Indian skipper as he made his way back for the next delivery. In Anderson's final over of the session, Rohit retaliated by hitting him for a cracking six.

In the 11th over, Anderson delivered a full toss aimed at the middle stump, which Rohit Sharma powerfully hit over wide long-on for a six, a shot so impressive that even England's Ben Stokes had to appreciate its excellence. The 13th over, however, saw a moment of misunderstanding. Anderson's short delivery, angling in, clipped the inside edge of Sharma's bat, brushed his thigh pad, and trickled towards the leg side. Sharma hesitated about the run, while his partner, Jaiswal, dashed for a single. Realizing the situation a moment too late, Sharma hurried to the crease, narrowly avoiding being run out.

After making it safely back, Rohit was met by James Anderson, who approached him for a brief exchange of words. While the specifics of their conversation remain unknown, it was clear that the interaction was tense, adding an extra layer of drama to the match's already high stakes.

However, Tom Hartley ended Rohit's stay on the crease at the score of 55. Earlier, India were handed an easy target of 192 runs to chase.

India ended up winning the match by five wickets to take an unassailable 3-1 series lead in the five-match contest. After England clinched the series opener, India bounced back to win the following two matches consecutively. India have maintained an undefeated home record since a surprising loss to England in 2012, achieving victories in 17 straight home Test series.
