The England cricket team's fortunes unraveled in Rajkot on February 18 (Sunday) and Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah couldn't resist delivering a humorous dig at 'Bazball' during the 4th day of the third Test. When England found themselves stumbling right out of the gate, losing wickets early after being presented with the herculean task of chasing 557 runs, the visitors opted to abandon their trademark aggressive stance in an attempt to mitigate further damage after plummeting to a precarious 20/3 in the final session.

Jasprit Bumrah's humour comes to the fore

With the scoreboard painting a grave picture for England in the 10th over, Bumrah's witty remark captured by the stump mic added a sprinkle of humor to the Test match.

"Ab toh maar hi nahi rahe hai," Bumrah was heard saying on the stump mic.

England receive a reality check

For the first time, England were seen attempting to navigate the traditional waters of Test cricket, seemingly losing their Bazball bravado. On the field, Ravindra Jadeja was casting spells with his bowling on his home ground, tangling the English batters in a web of spin under the scorching afternoon sun. This served as a stark wake-up call for the England team, who had previously prided themselves on their ability to chase lofty totals with a T20-esque flair in the Test arena.

Root and Bairstow adopt more traditional approach

Joe Root, previously criticized for a poorly timed reverse scoop in the first innings, was seen digging in his heels, attempting to replicate his successful runs from the 2021 India tour. Alongside him, Jonny Bairstow was on a quest to rediscover his form on Indian soil, seemingly searching for a needle in a haystack.

The climax of this cricketing drama saw the English team collapse to 122 all out in just 39.4 overs, marking their exit with a 434-run defeat, their most significant loss by runs since World War II.
