Jos Buttler breaks silence on missing IPL playoffs due to Pakistan series, says 'should not be any international cricket...'

England cricket team's white-ball captain Jos Buttler has opened up on missing out on the IPL 2024 Eliminator between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad due to returning home to compete in the four-match T20I series against Pakistan. He said International cricket should not clash with IPL.

Jos Buttler on missing out on IPL playoffs

England's T20 World Cup 2024-bound players left IPL ahead of the playoffs and due to this, KKR, RCB, and RR have to miss out on some of their star players like Jos Buttler, Will Jacks, Phil Salt etc. 

I said, ‘Look, as an England captain, my main priority is to be playing for England’. It is my personal opinion that there should not be any international cricket that clashes with the IPL," Buttler was quoted by Wisden.

England to face Pakistan ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

The series is crucial for both sides in order to get prepared for the marquee event.
