Kamran Akmal apologises to Arshdeep Singh and Sikh community after Harbhajan Singh slammed PAK cricketer for racist remarks

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal made derogatory and racist remarks against Arshdeep Singh and the Sikh community during the recently concluded India and Pakistan match in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which took place in New York, on June 9. Indian legend Harbhajan Singh rightfully found it offensive and slammed the PAK cricketer for his statements on Live TV. After this, the former cricketer publically apologised for his comments.

Harbhajan Singh brutally scolds Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal's remarks invited criticism from round the globe and even from Harbhajan Singh. He told how the Sikh Community protected the mothers and daughters from invaders and schooled the PAK cricketer.

“Lakh di laanat tere Kamraan Akhmal.. You should know the history of Sikhs before u open ur filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved ur mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock . Shame on you guys.. Have some Gratitude,” Harbhajan Singh tweeted.

Kamran Akmal apologises

Kamran Akmal apologised for his action by writing an apology from his official ‘X’ account formerly known as Twitter. Akmal said he regrets and apologised to Harbhajan Singh and the entire Sikh community.

“I deeply regret my recent comments and sincerely apologize to @harbhajan_singh and the Sikh community. My words were inappropriate and disrespectful. I have the utmost respect for Sikhs all over the world and never intended to hurt anyone. I am truly sorry. #Respect #Apology,” wrote Akmal.

Pakistan to face Canada in crucial clash

Pakistan have suffered two consecutive losses and are not set to face Canada in a must-win game in order to stay alive in the Super 8 races. Another loss here and their chances to qualify for the next stage will end. Both sides will collide at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, on June 11 (Tuesday).
