Watch: Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka scolds captain KL Rahul after record-breaking defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered their worst defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 10 wickets. After the record-breaking loss, KL Rahul as dejected and was lost for words as LSG bowlers were taken to the cleaners. The win was tough to digest for LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka as he scolded Rahul on the field. In the animated conversation, Rahul kept his cool as it seemed like he was trying to explain something. 
 

The commentators were not happy with Goenka losing his cool just after the match and that too on the field. They said that the conversation should have happened behind closed doors. 

Earlier, Rahul had won the toss and opted to bat first at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. After two early wickets of overseas batters Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, Rahul tried to rebuild the innings rather go look for boundaries during the fielding restrictions. He managed to score just 29 runs from 33 deliveries before falling to SRH captain Pat Cummins. Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni's 101-run partnership helped LSG post 165/4 which turned out to be a below-par score. 

While Abhishek got an early reprieve before he went on to score 75 runs from 28 balls, Head remained unbeatne for 89 off 30 balls. This is the highest target chased down in T20 cricket history within 10 overs.

Rahul lauded the sensational hitting by SRH openers and said that the bowlers had a tough time against their aggressive style of play.
 

“I am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on tv. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six hitting skills. They didn't give us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. Was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one. Once you are on the losing side, there are questions marks on the decisions taken,” Rahul told the broadcasters after the loss.
 

“We were 40-50 runs short. When we lost wickets in the powerplay, we couldn't get any momentum. Ayush and Nicky batted well to get us to 166. But even if we would have got 240, they could have chased it as well,” he added.
