Former Australian captain Michael Clarke believes that the Indian cricket team's captain Rohit Sharma might be feeling a bit fatigued and it could be the reason behind his lean patch in the recent matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He suggested that he get some rest if possible. Rohit did score a century this season but has been finding it hard to score runs since then.

Michael Clarke on Rohit Sharma's poor form

Rohit Sharma has only scored 33 runs in the last five matches for Mumbai Indians. His lean patch has been one of the reasons behind MI's dismal outing in the recent matches. Clarke has suggested Rohit to take a break but as he is a key player for MI, he is not getting it. However, he is hopeful that Rohit will find his form soon.

"Hopefully, he stresses less and focuses on his game because he’s too talented to keep missing out. In my view, he might be feeling a bit fatigued as well. A break to freshen up could do wonders for him, but as the Indian captain and a key player for Mumbai Indians, you’re not getting a break. So he’s going to have to find form," Michael Clarke told Star Sports.

"It’s just a matter of getting out. He doesn’t seem to be struggling with his timing; it’s just a matter of getting out. He’s at his best when he’s timing the ball, rather than trying to force it. He’s a great player, and I have no doubt he’ll bounce back soon," he added.

MI secure win after four straight losses

Mumbai Indians are out of the playoffs race and picked their fourth win in 12 matches after beating SRH by 7 wickets. However, they would try to add a couple more wins to their tally and finish at a better position on the points table.
