Mohammad Hafeez vows to expose Pakistan Cricket after being sacked from top post, says ' will reveal all the...'

Mohammad Hafeez finally reacted after being sacked by PCB from Pakistan team's Director of Cricket post following his dismal stint. Mohammad Hafeez was appointed as Pakistan team's Director of Cricket after Babar Azam-led Men in Green's disappointing performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, taking over from the former head coach Mickey Arthur. Despite his efforts, Hafeez was unable to reverse Pakistan's struggling form in international cricket, leading to significant defeats against Australia and New Zealand.

Mohammad Hafeez promises to expose PCB

In a post on 'X', Mohammad Hafeez expressed that he has always served Pakistan with honor and pride. He mentioned that he embraced the director role for the Pakistan Cricket Team with enthusiasm, but regretfully, his expected four-year term was abruptly reduced to just two months by the incoming administration of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Mohammad Hafeez also promised to expose Pakistan Cricket and disclose the reasons behind the team's subpar performance during his time as the team's director, aiming to shed light on the underlying issues.

“I always Prioritise and represented Pakistan with dignity and Pride. I accepted the new role as a Director pcb with great passion to make positive reforms but Unfortunately my designated tenure which was offered by  @TheRealPCB for 4 years was cut short for 2 mnths on the account of New chairmanship. Best wishes for Pakistan cricket future. As always, I foremost take responsibility and put myself accountable for all my executions in my given time and will accordingly reveal all the cricketing and other amateur non cricketing facts which ensue bad performances. Stay tuned.”

 

Haris Rauf bears PCB's brunt

 

In addition to relieving Mohammad Hafeez of his duties as the director of the Pakistan cricket team, the PCB has also ended its association with Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf. Rauf opted out of the Test series against Australia, choosing instead to play for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.

The leadership of the Pakistan Cricket Board has changed hands three times over the last three years. Following Zaka Ashraf's resignation as chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister of Punjab Province, was named the new PCB chief in the early days of February.

The frequent changes at the top have contributed to a downward spiral in Pakistan's international cricket performances. The team has suffered series defeats at home against Australia and England, in addition to being knocked out of the 2023 ODI World Cup. During this period, Pakistan also forfeited the right to host the Asia Cup, which was eventually organized in a hybrid format.

 

Following a demoralising sweep in the three-match Test series against Australia, the Pakistani cricket team also faced a heavy 4-1 series loss in the Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand.

Lately, Pakistan's victories have been limited to matches against lower-ranked teams, including Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the team's pace attack, once regarded as its stronghold, has seen a marked deterioration in performance over the past two years, turning from an asset into a liability. Even key fast bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi have delivered only mediocre performances.

In the aftermath of Pakistan's disappointing performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, Babar Azam stepped down as the team captain. Following their premature departure from the competition, the entire support staff of the Pakistan team was dismissed.
