Mohammed Shami to make his comeback in October before the Test series against New Zealand: Check details

India veteran speedster Mohammad Shami is set to feature for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh before international comeback.

India ace speedster Mohammed Shami who is currently on the road to recovery will feature in October as he is part of Bengal's probable squad for Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) announced their probable squad for the upcoming season where Shami and Kaif will feature for the state. The  33-year-old pacer last featured for India in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 

 

Earlier, PTI had reported that Shami will play either one or both of Bengal's away matches against Uttar Pradesh, which begins on October 11, and its home fixture against Bihar, which will start on October 18.

 

Shami who is giving regular updates on his recovery through social media was seen bowling in the nets in his recent video. Shami was the highest wicket-taker in his recent outing of the ODI World Cup with 24 scalps in seven matches.

Shami will be India's vital cog in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025 which will be hosted by Australia later this year. Team India have won the past two editions of the series and now Rohit Sharma & Co. will look for a hat trick of Test series win on Australian soil.

 

Team India will host Bangladesh for two Test match series and after that, the Men in Blue will host New Zealand for three Test match series.
