Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Will Jacks hit the GT bowlers for a 41-ball century and shared an unbeaten 166-run partnership with Virat Kohli, who scored 70 runs off 44 balls to help RCB beat GT in the match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Mohammed Siraj Loses His Cool

During the clash, Mohammed Siraj expressed frustration after Will Jacks dropped a catch off his bowling during the 19th over. The left-arm pacer was bowling to Sai Sudarshan and he hit a ramp shot for a six on the first ball of the over. Mohammed Siraj could have had the last laugh on the very following delivery. However, Will Jacks couldn't hold onto the catch and dashed his hopes. Will Jacks was standing at a backward point and came running in but put in a dive but failed to catch the ball. After this incident, Mohammed Siraj lost his cool and reacted furiously.

GT POST 200

Gujarat Titans (GT) ended their innings at 200 for three in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Despite early setbacks with the dismissals of Wriddhiman Saha (5) and Shubman Gill (16), half-centuries from Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan propelled GT to a competitive total. Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 84 off 49 balls, while Shahrukh scored 58 runs from 30 balls and David Miller contributed a crucial cameo of 25 not out. However, Will Jacks and Virat Kohli helped RCB gun down a 200-run target and left spectators in awe of their stupendous performance. RCB reached 206 for one in 16 overs.

"First time I have come out to bat 4 (in IPL.) Before the game Ashish Nehra told me I might bat at 4, so was prepared in the bus itself. The first over spun a bit, the pitch dried up. The wicket is spinning but 200 is a good score," said Shahrukh.

"I just had to step out and hit straight. Have been working in the nets with our coaches. Good to play along with him (Sai Sudharsan), we have a good relationship. I think so, 200 is enough. It's important to bowl well and restrict them," he added.

Moreover, Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans remained at the seventh spot in the IPL 2024 points table after they lost the match against RCB. Despite winning the match against GT, RCB are still at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table with six points in 10 games.
