MS Dhoni celebrates his 43rd birthday with Salman Khan, wife Sakshi touches feet after cake-cutting; watch viral video

Legendary Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 43rd birthday in Mumbai where he attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s sangeet ceremony. In the video that has gone viral on social media, MS Dhoni is cutting the cake with Rajnikanth’s movie Jailer’s song playing in the background. After cake-cutting, Sakshi Dhoni touched her husband’s feet. During the cake-cutting ceremony, Bollywood actor Salman Khan was in attendance as well. 

Earlier, Dhoni had lauded Rohit Sharma-led Indian team for winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados after beating South Africa by seven runs. The 43-year-old thanked the team for giving him the perfect birthday gift ahead of his birthday.

“WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS 2024.My heart rate was up,well done on being calm, having the self belief and doing what u guys did.From all the Indians back home and everywhere in the world a big thank you for bringing the World Cup Home. CONGRATULATIONS. arreeee thanks for the priceless birthday gift,” Dhoni wrote in a post on his Instagram account.
 

In 2007, it was a young Dhoni who led Team India in South Africa and won the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup after beating Pakistan in a thrilling encounter.

Dhoni tight-lipped on IPL future

Dhoni made his last T20 appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) knocked Chennai Super Kings (CSK) out of the playoffs contention. Before the season, Dhoni had relinquished captaincy. Ruturaj Gaikwad became the new captain of CSK. Dhoni who mainly played as a finisher and had his struggles with the knee after surgery is yet to make a call whether he would return for IPL 2025. There are speculations that the wicketkeeper-batter may have played his last IPL match this season.

Dhoni has led CSK to five IPL titles, a feat that he shares with former MI skipper Rohit. Interestingly, Dhoni and Rohit are the only captains who have led India to T20 World Cup title win.
