MS Dhoni couldn't sign off IPL 2024 with a trophy in his hand, which could have been a fairytale ending for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend. But defying the mounting speculation on his last dance in IPL, MS Dhoni didn't announce his retirement after CSK's last match in IPL 2024, where they suffered a 27-run defeat against RCB which cost them a playoff spot. Meanwhile, couple of days after CSK's last match at the Chinnaswamy, MS Dhoni's interaction with Dubai Eye 103.8 has come out where he spoke about his connection with his dearest franchise CSK, for whom he won five IPL titles during his captaincy stint.

MS Dhoni's emotional connect with CSK

Dhoni spoke his heart out and said that he has an emotional connection with CSK and it's not like a player who comes, plays a couple of months and goes back.

"My connection with CSK, it's an emotional connect. It's not like a player who comes, plays a couple of months & goes back home, my strength is the emotional connection," Dhoni told during a conversation with Dubai Eye 103.8.

After retiring from international cricket, fans only get to see Dhoni in action in cricket field during IPL only. As soon as the IPL gets over Dhoni just disappears. He is rarely seen posting anything on social media as he likes to keep things secret and private. During the conversation, Dhoni also revealed reason behind his disappearance.

"I feel less distraction are better but in between on and off I'll put something for fans on social media so that they know okay I'm somewhere good, and I'm doing what I like," Dhoni added.

On being asked about leadership, former India captain said:

"You lead by example through ups & downs because when you are successful it's very easy to say this is what we do but when times are tough is the real time & you have to walk that talk - in those moments if you are still the same, that time you earn the respect".

Amidst his retirement rumours, reports are doing rounds that Dhoni will go to London for his muscle tear treatment and after recovery he will take a call on his IPL future. Recovering from an arthroscopy surgery, he was seen coming to bat down the order, mostly at no.8 and no.9, during the tense death overs in IPL 2024. Despite this change, Dhoni continued to be a crucial force for CSK, crafting impressive cameos. Across 14 matches, he managed to score a remarkable 161 runs, remaining unbeaten a staggering eight times. This impressive feat pushed his batting average for the season to a very healthy 53.67.
