Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni remains elusive on social media despite his massive fan following. This is especially frustrating for his fans during periods of cricketing lull, when they desperately search social media for any updates on their superstar cricketer. Unlike many cricketers who leverage social media, Dhoni maintains a minimal online presence with only few posts. After retiring from international cricket, Dhoni is only seen on the cricket field during the IPL season. Once the IPL concludes, he tends to vanish from the public eye. Dhoni, known for his privacy, seldom posts on social media and prefers to keep his life under wraps. His friends and former teammates have even confirmed his dislike for mobile phones and social media in general.

What does Dhoni like, Istagram or Twitter?

But when asked about what does he prefer between Instagram and Twitter (know known as X), the CSK legend chose the former.

"I prefer Instagram over Twitter. I believe that nothing good has happened on Twitter especially in India. There's always a controversy, somebody will write something & it turns into a Controversy," Dhoni told during a conversation with Dubai Eye 103.8.

Dhoni has 48 million followers on Instagram and 8.2 million on X. Notably, it's been quite a while since he posted anything on X. Dhoni's last post on X came on January 8, 2021.

"I feel less distraction are better but in between on and off I'll put something for fans on social media so that they know okay I'm somewhere good, and I'm doing what I like," Dhoni added.

Dhoni's dream of a storybook ending with a trophy in IPL 2024 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) didn't come true. Despite rumors of retirement after CSK's final match, a 27-run loss to RCB that knocked them out of the playoffs, Dhoni remained silent. Dhoni also opened up about his strong bond with CSK. He captained CSK to five IPL titles during his time with the franchise.

Dhoni spoke his heart out and said that he has an emotional connection with CSK and it's not like a player who comes, plays a couple of months and goes back.

"My connection with CSK, it's an emotional connect. It's not like a player who comes, plays a couple of months & goes back home, my strength is the emotional connection," Dhoni concluded.

Meanwhile, despite mounting speculation about his retirement, CSK sources reveal that former Indian captain MS Dhoni is prioritising treatment for a muscle tear. According to IANS, Dhoni is likely to visit London to get his muscle tear treated. This decision comes after CSK's heartbreaking loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday, eliminating them from the IPL 2024 playoffs. However, it seems his focus has shifted to recovery, with a decision on his cricketing career likely coming after treatment.
