Mumbai batter Musheer Khan suffers fracture in road accident, ruled out of Irani Cup 2024 and doubtful for Ranji Trophy initial games
Mumbai teenager Musheer Khan suffered a fracture while travelling from Kanpur to Lucknow for Irani Cup scheduled to start on October 1.
Days ahead of Irani Cup 2024, Mumbai’s young batter Musheer Khan suffered a fracture in a road accident. Sarfaraz Khan's brother Musheer was travelling from Kanpur to Lucknow with his father-cum-coach Naushad when they met an unfortunate accident.
While there is no official word from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), Musheer is ruled out of Irani Cup match that is scheduled to take place at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium starting October 1.
“He didn’t travel with Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He was probably traveling from his native place, Azamgarh, with his father, to Lucknow when the accident took place,” a source told The Times of India.
Musheer’s form
Musheer has had a good run in red-ball cricket. For India B, he scored 181 against India A in a winning cause in recently concluded Duleep Trophy. However, in last four innings, he has recorded two ducks. The 19-year-old averages 51.14 in the format with 716 runs from 15 innings including three centuries and one fifty.
