Not Rohit, Virat, Harbhajan Singh feels this India star will emerge as match-winner in high-voltage IND vs PAK T20 World Cup clash
Harbhajan Singh believes Suryakumar Yadav will emerge as match winner for Team India in their T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan on June 9.
All eyes are on the high-octane India versus Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2024 clash which is slated to be held on June 9 at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York. India, riding high on their dominant tournament start, enters the contest as the clear favorite.
Harbhajan places his bet on Suryakumar Yadav for IND vs PAK encounter
Meanwhile, former India's spin wizard Harbhajan Singh has pinpointed Suryakumar Yadav as a crucial player for India, not just against Pakistan but potentially for the entire T20 World Cup 2024. Currently, Yadav reigns supreme as the top-ranked batsman in T20Is. However, his past performances against Pakistan hasn't been that good. In his last four T20I encounters with their arch-rivals, he has only managed 57 runs at a strike-rate of 123. Suryakumar Yadav will be looking to break free from this trend and deliver a match-defining performance against a Pakistan team grappling with a confidence dip after their surprising loss to the USA.
Harbhajan Singh, speaking on Star Sports, highlighted Suryakumar Yadav as a potential game-changer for India throughout the T20 World Cup. Harbhajan emphasised Suryakumar's ability to explode after settling into his innings, amassing significant scores.
"I think Suryakumar Yadav is someone who could be a game-changer for India throughout this tournament. Even though, he didn't get going the other day. But Suryakumar Yadav, when he plays those 10 or 15 balls, he will probably score those winning runs for team India. At any position, he will go on to bat, he will play for the team. So, for me, Suryakumar Yadav would be the biggest game changer for team India in this World Cup,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports a day ahead of the game.
