The upcoming India versus Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 clash has cricket legends chiming in with their insights. World Cup-winner and veteran Indian all-rounder known for his heroics in past India-Pakistan encounters, Yuvraj Singh, has revealed the matchups he is looking forward to witness in the high-voltage drama. These arch-rivals, currently in contrasting forms, will face off at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Yuvraj, having experienced the intensity of India-Pakistan clashes firsthand, shared his thoughts on the emotions surrounding the match and what fans can expect from this high-voltage encounter.

“I think we’re all moved by the emotion of the India-Pakistan game because we have a lot of history. Pakistan have got some really fiery bowlers. I think we got a stronger batting side," said Yuvraj in a video released by ICC.

Yuvraj Singh delved deeper into the crucial matchups, highlighting the challenge Pakistan's potent left-arm pace attack poses for India's experienced opening batsmen, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.  Both Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Shah Afridi are known for their swing and pace, which could be a real test for India's top order.

"I’m definitely looking at Mohammad Amir vs Rohit because he likes to get the ball full and then Shaheen Afridi against Virat. I think these are going to be some big match ups. But at the end of the day, you have to use your mind. You have to play according to the situation and I feel the team which plays according to the situation and keeps the emotion back will definitely win this game,” Yuvraj added.

Pakistan's left-arm pace duo of Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Shah Afridi have troubled the Indian openers, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, with the new ball in the past. However, both Kohli and Sharma are seasoned campaigners and their experience will be crucial on a potentially tricky New York pitch.

This match carries extra weight as India and Pakistan come in with contrasting form. India kicked off their campaign with a convincing win over Ireland, while Pakistan is reeling from a recent T20I series loss to England and a shocking Super Over defeat against co-hosts USA.
