The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has named legendary West Indian cricketer Dwayne Bravo as their bowling consultant for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Bravo, a T20 World Cup winner himself, will join the team's pre-tournament training camp in the Caribbean. The 40-year-old Bravo, who is also associated with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as their bowling coach, brings a wealth of experience to the table for Afghanistan. Former right-arm fast-medium bowling all-rounder boasts an impressive international career with 295 matches played across formats. Beyond his international experience, Bravo holds the record for most wickets taken in T20 cricket history – a staggering 625 scalps!  He's also amassed nearly 7,000 runs in the format, solidifying his reputation as one of T20's most successful all-rounders.

A T20 legend joins the Afghan ranks

Dwayne Bravo, the undisputed king of wickets in T20 cricket with a whopping 625 scalps, is bringing his expertise to Afghanistan as their bowling consultant for the T20 World Cup. This isn't just about bowling prowess – Bravo has nearly 7,000 T20 runs to his name, solidifying his status as one of the format's most successful all-rounders.

Beyond statistics, Bravo's flamboyant style and infectious energy have captivated fans worldwide. He's a champion's champion, having lifted trophies in the T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, IPL, and CPL. This isn't his first foray into coaching either – he also serves as the bowling coach for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.

The Afghan team, already in St. Kitts and Nevis, is gearing up for a crucial 10-day training camp overseen by their coaching staff, including the legendary DJ Bravo. This World Cup prep will be bolstered by Bravo's experience and leadership, giving Afghanistan a strong chance to shine on the global stage.
