On Wednesday, October 5, Pakistan's young fast bowler, Naseem Shah, updated his fans about his health after a successful shoulder surgery. The injury, which occurred during the Asian Cup 2023 Super Four clash against India at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, has ruled him out of the World Cup 2023 taking place in India.

During the 46th over against India, Naseem had to exit the field due to shoulder pain. Post-surgery, the 20-year-old shared a video of himself in bed, with his right shoulder heavily bandaged.

His video caption read, "Alhamdulillah, I'm recovering well. Your prayers and well wishes have been my strength. Thank you all for your support."

With Naseem's absence, Pakistan reintroduced Hasan Ali, who has participated in fewer than 10 ODIs for Pakistan since the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.

Given that Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are the primary pacers for Pakistan, the team now faces a choice between Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr for the third fast-bowling spot.

In his 14 ODI appearances, Naseem has claimed 32 wickets with an economy of 4.68, boasting two five-wicket performances. His exceptional ability to swing the ball in both directions and his commendable bowling during crunch situations have garnered praise.

Pakistan will kick off their World Cup 2023 campaign on Friday, October 5, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. They faced defeats in both their preparatory matches against New Zealand and Australia.
