Big Blow to Pakistan after 3rd T20I loss, PCB rules out two big stars for remainder of New Zealand series
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has ruled out star players Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan from remaining matches of the T20I series against New Zealand.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to rule out star players Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan from the remainder of the T20I series against New Zealand. Both players will be missing out on the 4th T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, on April 25 (Thursday).
PCB provides major update on Rizwan and Irfan
The Pakistan Cricket Board has provided a major update on Rizwan and Irfan's injury and availability for the New Zealand series. PCB has rested both players for the 4th and 5th T20I. They will be working on their rehab at the NCA.
"PCB Medical Panel yesterday received Radiology reports of Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan. After reviewing the reports and in consultation with the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand. The two players will work on their rehabilitation with the PCB Medical Panel at NCA," stated PCB in their official release.
Mohammad Rizwan's injury
Rizwan has likely injured his hamstring and as per reports from Pakistan Cricket, his injury might be serious which may even force him to sit out on the Ireland and England tour. PCB is yet to provide a detailed report on Rizwan's injury and rehab period.
In his absence, Usman Khan will likely be playing the role of the wicket-keeper for the Men in Green. He donned the gloves in the third T20I as well after the star batter was retired-hurt during the match after experiencing discomfort.
