Waqar Younis warns Babar Azam's Pakistan for underestimating second-string New Zealand, says 'Last night a baby face...'

Former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis was extremely impressed with Mark Chapman's knock vs Pakistan in the 3rd T20I. He warned Babar Azam's team about underestimating the young New Zealand team.

Legendary pacer Waqar Younis heavily praised Mark Chapman for his heroic knock against Pakistan in the third T20I at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, on April 21 (Sunday). He also warned the Babar Azam-led Men in Green side for underestimating the young Blackcaps side and said they might be inexperienced but are really dangerous.

Mark Chapman played an unbeaten knock of 87 runs off just 42 balls and helped New Zealand chase down 179 runs target against a strong Pakistan bowling attack. Pakistan batting first score 178 runs at the loss of four wickets but it was not enough to stop the visitors as they managed to level the series 1-1. Former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis was highly impressed with Chapman's knock and praised him for his valiant efforts.

“Last night a baby face Chapman shown many how to bat in T20 format. Don’t underestimate this Kiwi side. They might be inexperience but very dangers #PAKvNZ Super knock by #MarkChapman,” tweeted Waqar Younis from his official ‘X’ account.

 

Chapman's heroics help NZ level series

 

The first match of the Pakistan vs New Zealand series was washed out due to rain. The hosts picked up a dominant victory in the second T20I and had a chance to gain big lead in the third ODI. However, Mark Chapman's stunning half-century spoiled their plans.

 

Now after three T20Is, the series is leveled at 1-1. The next match of the series will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, on April 25 (Thursday). Both teams will be eyeing to take the 2-1 lead with a good win.
