On the back of a superb performance on debut from Rehan Ahmed and Harry Brook's third consecutive century, England on December 20 (Tuesday) trounced Pakistan by eight wickets in the third and final Test match in Karachi. As a result, the Three Lions completed a historic whitewash of Pakistan in the Men in Green's den. For the first time in history, Pakistan suffered a whitewash in a Test series at home. Needing 55 runs on the penultimate day of the Karachi Test, in-form Ben Duckett (82 not out off 78 balls) and captain Ben Stokes (35 not out off 43 balls) finished the match in the opening hour.

England completed its second successive win inside four days following its thrilling 26-run victory at Multan last week. England won the first Test by 74 runs in dimming light on the last day on a flat wicket in Rawalpindi.

After the latest loss, Pakistan fell to the seventh place on the World Test Championship (WTC) standings and their chances of qualifying for the final next year suffered a major beating. Babar Azam's men are now all but out of the WTC final race.

England now have the most points (124) but they are still stationed in fifth place in the standings. The Three Lions chances of qualifying for the WTC final are also very slim.

Australia continues to flex their dominance as the Baggy Greens sit atop the WTC standings at the moment with percentage points of 76.92.

India and South Africa are looked in a fierce battle for second place with the former marginally ahead of the latter at this point in time.
